It's a time when we dream of beach vacations, picnics with a light breeze in our hair, and iced lattes with coconut milk. But let's be honest: while summer makes our hearts race, it can also wreak havoc on our skin—sunburn, clogged pores, and a sudden resemblance to a tomato if we're not careful.

 

So how do you stay radiant, well-groomed, and joyfully fresh during this hot season?

Introducing the Summer Skin Ritual. It's not just a routine, ladies—it's an uplifting ceremony of self-love with an iced coffee in hand.

 

 

Why is summer skin care so important (and necessary)?

 

You wouldn't wear a winter coat to the beach, would you? The same should go for your skin care. Summer is a time of sweat, sunscreen, sunshine, and (hopefully) salty baths. Your skin has different needs—just like your wardrobe, only this time it's your face.

 

A summer skincare ritual can bring you the following benefits:

Your skin absorbs sweat, sunscreen, makeup, and unknown particles from the city air.

Every time I double-cleanse, I feel like I'm washing away all my bad decisions—especially that extra iced matcha at 6 p.m. sometimes.

Twice a week is enough! Instead of harsh scrubs, choose exfoliants. You want smooth skin, not scratchy skin.

BONUS: Exfoliated skin = better SPF absorption + less risk of ingrown hairs (bring on the summer dress season!).

 

 

3. Moisturize, even if you're sweating like you're in a Bikram yoga class

Yes, even ladies with oily skin need moisture! Try light gel moisturizers with hyaluronic acid or aloe vera. Bonus points if you keep them in the fridge so you can cool off after sunbathing.

I keep my moisturizer close to my coconut milk—both are essential for my emotional stability.

 

 

4. Sunscreen: The holy grail you can't live without

No ritual is complete without SPF 30 or higher. Reapply every two hours, especially if you're outside or near water, sweat, or toddlers who use your face as a napkin.

TIP: Use powder sunscreen to top it off — yes, it exists, and it won't ruin your makeup.

 

 

5. Refresh and repeat

A hydrating face mist is like a portable spa in your purse.

Use it in the middle of the workday, at the beach, in traffic, during existential crises—whenever you need a moment to feel like you've got it all under control.

 

 

Skincare rituals on vacation vs. during the work week

 

On vacation:

Pack versatile products (such as a tinted moisturizer with SPF).

Take travel-size face masks with you – they're great after a long journey or a night out.

Don't forget your lips and scalp! Lip balm with SPF and a wide-brimmed hat will be your new best friends.

 

At work:

Start your day with a complete ritual – it will set the right tone.

Keep oil-blotting sheets and skin mist on your desk (or in your bag).

Try a 5-minute ritual during lunch – cleansing + mist + SPF = rejuvenated energy and skin.
